Laser Genesis is a gentle, non-ablative laser treatment designed to improve the overall quality and appearance of the skin without removing or resurfacing its outer layer.

At Botta Medical Aesthetics & Wellness, we use Cutera Laser Genesis™ to deliver controlled heat beneath the surface of the skin. This stimulates collagen remodeling while also targeting the tiny blood vessels that can contribute to persistent redness.

The result is a gradual improvement in skin quality rather than an aggressive resurfacing treatment.

How Does Laser Genesis Work?

Laser Genesis uses the 1064 nm wavelength to gently heat selected layers beneath the surface of the skin.

This controlled heating encourages the skin's natural collagen-remodeling process. Over time, this can help improve texture, soften the appearance of fine lines, and support firmer, healthier-looking skin.

The laser also interacts with tiny blood vessels within the skin, which is why Laser Genesis can be helpful for diffuse redness and some rosacea-related redness.

Because the surface of the skin is not removed, Laser Genesis is considered a non-ablative treatment.

What Does Treatment Feel Like?

Most clients describe Laser Genesis as a comfortable warming sensation as the handpiece moves repeatedly across the skin.

The warmth builds gradually during treatment but does not involve removing or peeling away the surface of the skin.

Afterward, the skin may appear slightly pink or feel warm for a short period of time. Most clients are able to return to their normal activities with little to no downtime.

Laser Genesis Is Usually a Series

Laser Genesis is intended to create gradual change, so we generally plan treatment as a series rather than expecting one session to accomplish everything.

The number of treatments and the timing between sessions depend on your skin, the concerns we are addressing, your response to treatment, and your overall goals.

Collagen remodeling continues over time. We allow your skin time to respond between treatments and adjust the plan as needed.

Redness Versus Visible Blood Vessels

Laser Genesis can be very helpful for diffuse redness—the more generalized pink or red appearance that can occur across the cheeks, nose, or other areas of the face.

A clearly visible individual capillary, facial vein, spider vein, or other vascular concern may require a more targeted laser treatment.

During your consultation, we will determine whether Laser Genesis, targeted vascular treatment, or a combination of approaches makes the most sense.

Where Does Laser Genesis Fit Into a Skin-Care Plan?

Laser Genesis does not have to be used as a stand-alone treatment.

Depending on your skin and your goals, we may incorporate it into a broader plan that includes professional skin treatments, professional skin care products, microneedling, or other treatments available at BMAW.

We do not automatically recommend a more aggressive treatment simply because one is available.

For someone looking for gradual improvement in skin quality with minimal downtime, Laser Genesis may provide exactly the amount of stimulation we are looking for. For another person, microneedling, a peel, another laser approach, or a combination of treatments may be more appropriate.
